Course Syllabus

This course aims to help you learn more about Microsoft Azure Machine Learning. Machine learning is the foundation for modern AI solutions. In this course, you will learn about some fundamental machine learning concepts, and how to use the Azure Machine Learning service to create and publish machine learning models. This course forms part of the preparation for the AI 900 Exam. When you pass the AI-900 exam, you earn the Microsoft Certified Azure AI Fundamentals certification.

Module 1: Azure Machine Learning to train and deploy a predictive model

In this lesson, you will learn about some fundamental machine learning concepts, and how to use the Azure Machine Learning service to create and publish machine learning models. After completing this lesson, you will be able to: 1) Identify different types of machine learning model; 2) Use the automated machine learning capability of Azure Machine Learning to train and deploy a predictive model.

Module 2: Create a Regression Model with Azure AI

In this lesson, you will learn how to train and publish a regression model with Azure Machine Learning designer without needing to write any code. After completing this lesson, you will be able to: 1) Use Azure Machine Learning designer to train a regression model; 2) Use a regression model for inferencing; 3) Deploy a regression model as a service.

Module 3 : Create a Classification Model with Azure AI

In this lesson, you will learn how to train and publish a classification model with Azure Machine Learning designer. After completing this lesson, you will be able to: 1) Use Azure Machine Learning designer to train a classification model; 2) Use a classification model for inferencing; 3) Deploy a classification model as a service.

Module 4 : Create a Clustering Model with Azure AI

In this lesson, you will learn how to train and publish a clustering model with Azure Machine Learning designer. After completing this lesson, you will be able to: 1) Use Azure Machine Learning designer to train a clustering model; 2) Use a clustering model for inferencing; 3) Deploy a clustering model as a service.

Practical Exercises

In this course, there are a number of practical exercises. We encourage you to complete these exercises to help you gain further knowledge of Azure and Machine learning models. On completing the exercises, you will gain a more practical understanding on how to create no-code predictive models with Azure Machine Learning. This hands-on approach will help you in your preparation for the AI 900 exam.

Create an Azure Machine Learning workspace

To complete the practical exercises, you will make use of an Azure Machine Learning workspace. To use Azure Machine Learning, you create a workspace in your Azure subscription. You can then use this workspace to manage data, compute resources, code, models, and other artifacts related to your machine learning workloads.

You will also need a Microsoft Azure subscription   . If you don't already have one, you can sign up for a free trial at https://azure.microsoft.com/ . You can find more information on how to get an Azure Subscription later in this course.

Clean-up

After completing each lesson, be sure to follow the Clean Up instructions at the end of the lesson to stop compute resources.

Note: If you decide not to complete this course, be sure to stop your compute instance. If you are using your existing Azure Subscription this will help to avoid incurring unnecessary charges.

Hands-on Activities & Exercises

You will engage in interactive exercises throughout this program. This practical activity offers opportunities to practice and to implement your learning. Depending on the course, you may use the Microsoft Learn Sandbox, work directly with services and resources on the Microsoft Azure Portal, operate in VM mode, use a Python code environment in Visual Studio Code and use lab files from GitHub. You will explore Microsoft Azure and get hands-on experience working with live Microsoft Azure resources and services. You will work in real-time with real technology - but in a controlled environment, allowing you to safely apply your learning at your own pace.

Microsoft account

You need a Microsoft account to sign into the Sandbox, the Azure portal, and other services. If you don't have an account, you can create one for free. The Learn Sandbox allows free, fixed-time access to a cloud subscription with no credit card required. Learners can safely explore, create, and manage resources without the fear of incurring costs or "breaking production".

VOIP unavailable for Microsoft account signup

A Voice-over-IP (VoiP) phone number cannot be used directly during the account phone verification process. Check that the phone you are using can receive calls and SMS messages from a United States-based telephone number.

Microsoft account SMS verification

The Microsoft account creation process may use SMS validation, sending a text message to your phone. If you do not have a phone to undergo verification, you can ask a family member or a friend to use their phone to complete this step. If you do not have any access to SMS text messaging you can phone Microsoft support in your region . Microsoft support will be able to verify your account in real-time without needing SMS.

Troubleshoot your new account signup process

In most cases, the Azure account signup is a simple and trouble-free process. If you need more information on signing up for a new account in Azure portal or Azure account center, please visit the Microsoft website - Troubleshoot  new account sign up issues .
